Last week of December

Wow I can't believe it's the last week of December! This year has been so full of ups and downs I feel like I am attached to a string of a yoyo. Anyway, we had a great Christmas and decided to let the kids celebrate New Year's Eve early with a sleepover(I know I am completely crazy!). I had a total of 8 kids at the beginning but lost 2 during the night back to their house. But I am exhausted, and we are going to go out tonight for New Year's Eve. I hope this year has been good for all, I know I am looking forward to the new year.

We also had a lot of fun with our army family on Christmas Eve! This is my Army nephew after I snuck him a cupcake, he was so embarassed cause all the adults came in and were laughing, I whisked him away to a bath which made him much more happy!

Loving our December together

Well we are loving being together this holiday season although I don't think we have slowed to an all out run since this month has begun. Last week we had our Christmas parade which the boys and I were able to walk in as representatives of the cub scouts. It was a blast and a night parade so we were able to see wonderful light displays. On sunday we were finally able to celebrate Eve's 4th birthday with our army family. She had so much fun and got a ton of ponies(Which she was in heaven with). We also had our cub scout holiday party which was a blast and helped wear out the children! Between getting ready for Christmas and our move we never seem to have a moment to just sit, but hey what fun would that be!

Christmas fun

Well although this was our weekend for the flu bug we still managed to have some fun. And this weekend really helped me remember one of the many reasons I love being a military spouse. We started off saturday with a post christmas parade, it wasn't very long maybe 12 floats but they toss out enough candy to fill a grocery bag. Then I spent the rest of the day working on Christmas gifts. Today we went and got our Christmas tree, and for us this was a special thing as it has been 3 years since we have had a real Christmas tree in our own home. We had to wait in line for over an hour but we got our free tree and just sat there smelling it for forever(we're dorks). Then we spent the afternoon at what the base calls Jingle Jam. The kids got to sit and get pics with Santa, watch a military police dog demonstration, play on a hemmtt firetruck, bounce in jumpers, ride ponies and make crafts. Along with having hot dogs, funnels cakes, hot cocoa and cookies and mind you all of this was free. Life in the military is hard but on days like today when they give you back just a little it makes it easier to deal with the harder stuff. It was a lot of fun. Then we came home and got our Christmas tree up and it is the most beautiful one I think we have ever had! Merry Christmas everyone!

Busy Week

I can not believe the first week of december has already passed. Things for us have been crazy. This week Scotty got officially welcomed into the Non Commissioned Officer Corps. It was a neat ceremony(I am a sucker for those kind of things) and I was glad I got to witness it. I also taught my last class here on Polk, which was very sad for me but exciting at the same time. Topher and Eve both came down with a stomach flu(always loads of fun!) and today we had our welcome home thingy for our company. It was 35 degrees and they had planned an outdoor gathering with jumpy things for the kids. Yeah for the most part we huddled under blankets and bs'ed our way through the 2 1/2 hours of freezing temps, I am still dethawing. But it was a good week and we had a lot of fun! We get our Christmas tree this weekend and then Christmas season will officially kick off for us!

Starting out!

Hello all! I finally broke down and decided to start a blog for our family. We are currently stationed in the south but will be moving home for awhile soon and we are very excited. Scotty just got home from a 15mnth deployment so we are just enjoying having him home. Gabe is now in the 4th grade, Harmon is in the 2nd grade, Christopher is in Kindergarten, and Eve is in Preschool. The two older boys both do cub scouts and Scotty and I are one of their leaders. I also teach classes on base. So we stay pretty busy.
